Cell Phone Usage
- To ensure the optimal utilisation of consultation time with our patients, we kindly request that cell phones not be used during appointments.
Medical Aids
- We partner with a variety of medical aid schemes. For more details, please chat with our front desk team.
- ProPaeds does not accept medical aid from outside South Africa. It is necessary to settle the account after the consultation session.
Appointment Policy
While we strive to accommodate everyone promptly, scheduling unscheduled patients can be challenging. To provide thorough care, we adhere to the policy of examining one patient per appointment time. Siblings require separate appointments to ensure quality attention for each. Emergencies are understood, and efforts will be made to attend to referred patients, even if it involves waiting.
- Cancelling an Appointment: As a Medical Specialists Practice, the Health Professionals Council of South Africa mandates that appointments not cancelled 24 hours before the scheduled time will be charged in full, either to your medical aid or during your next visit.
- Routine Visits: Schedule routine visits separately from illness visits, especially for vaccinations. Vaccinations cannot be administered to a sick child. For developmental assessments, a healthy state is preferable.
- Preparation for Consultations: Bring a list of questions to streamline the consultation process and minimize the need for follow-up calls.
- The practice charges R200 for each repeat prescription, payable upon script receipt, with no exceptions.
- Special reports, chronic forms, and PMB applications, require significant time for completion and will incur charges.
- Vaccinations: Full payment for all vaccines is required before leaving the consultation rooms.
- Telephonic/Electronic Consultations: Accurate diagnoses cannot be provided over the phone. It is recommended to schedule an in-person appointment for a comprehensive examination. Telephonic consultations are suitable for follow-ups and test result discussions, with timely responses assured.
